This Little Willie Whitfield version of "Kansas City" by Leiber and Stoller, released in 1952 on the Frederal
label with its name changed to "K. C. Loving" - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih4CVP7S08k
Federal re-released the song in 1959 under its original title - see
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih4CVP7S08k
This version differs from those by other artists in that there is an extra verse and the lyrics are a bit
saucier - later versions toned them down a little.
The song is basically a twelve bar blues in C, in the form I I I I IV IV I I V IV I I, played with a swing
feel.
There is no intro - the vocal starts on its own and the instruments come in on the first beat of bar 1.
The Outro of the recording fades out.
